Lilith Games’ Clash of Critters surpassed $50 million in estimated gross player spending in under five months, according to AppMagic estimates. The United States remained the game’s most lucrative market, contributing 30% of spending. China and Japan followed, although the roundup provides no percentages for either.

The estimate does not disclose Lilith Games’ recognized revenue, the game’s launch date, platform mix, retention or audited receipts. Gross player spending measures the market more broadly than a publisher’s booked revenue.

The weekly Hot Five describes its remit as “the biggest stories you need to know from the last seven days.” Its five items cover corporate control, consumer spending, install scale, a studio ranking and player reaction.

The 2026 mobile maker ranking

The Top 50 Mobile Game Makers of 2026 produced this top three:

  • Scopely ranked first.
  • Microfun ranked second.
  • Century Games ranked third.

The ranking frames the emergence of studios, innovation and the direct-to-consumer shift as defining forces in mobile gaming. The roundup excerpt does not explain its scoring method.

The ranking offers visibility for the named studios, but those positions do not establish funding, headcount, revenue, downloads or product performance. For studios, the practical result is recognition inside the roundup rather than an announced operating or financing change.

Love and Deepspace backlash continues

Infold Games’ Love and Deepspace launched a Blade Runner 2049 crossover. Backlash continued among dissatisfied fans around the version 6.0 update in July, when Infold scrapped planned character Valko at the last minute.

Adding crossover content did not resolve the July dispute over Valko, according to the roundup, which reports continued dissatisfaction without user or revenue data. The new content did not remove the complaint about the earlier character decision.

For Infold, the operational issue is whether future character commitments remain credible. The source provides no retention, spending or sentiment figures to measure that risk.

Rotate Rings reaches 10 million installs

Nebula Studio’s new puzzle game Rotate Rings surpassed 10 million mobile installs after surging up the free games charts in October. AppMagic data already places the title third among the Singapore-based studio’s most-downloaded games.

The 10 million figure establishes install scale for Nebula Studio, although it does not reveal active users, retention, monetization mix or revenue. For the developer, the concrete result is distribution reach; the roundup reports no commercial performance beyond downloads.

Supercell completes the Metacore acquisition

Supercell completed its full acquisition of Metacore, taking 100% ownership of the Merge Mansion maker. Supercell was already Metacore’s largest shareholder, and the two companies announced the planned acquisition in May.

Completion converts Supercell’s prior position as Metacore’s largest shareholder into sole ownership, but the source discloses no transaction price, management plan, staffing decision or product-roadmap change. The concrete change is control of the company behind Merge Mansion; operational consequences remain unspecified.

What changes for studios and game businesses?

Across the five items, only two produce measurable audience or spending scale, while the acquisition changes ownership and the other entries describe editorial position and player sentiment. The ranking carries no operating change. Love and Deepspace carries a communication risk around character commitments. Rotate Rings demonstrates reach without showing economics.

This comparison matters because each headline measures something different. Installations, gross spending, rankings and sentiment cannot substitute for revenue or retention data. Supercell’s transaction also lacks disclosed operating terms in the roundup.

The next market signal worth watching is fresh AppMagic data on Clash of Critters spending and Rotate Rings installs, plus any operating announcement from Supercell about Metacore.
