ENVER and Trass Games Commit $2M to Fund Social-First VR Studios

The backers of top-grossing Quest title UG will invest up to $2M in emerging VR studios building social-first games, pairing capital with the marketing playbook behind the chart-topper.

Patch notes

  • ENVER and Trass Games committed up to $2 million to fund emerging VR studios building social-first, original games, announced February 3, 2026.

  • The partners previously co-funded UG (ContinuumXR), now the number one grossing game on Meta Quest, ahead of Beat Saber and Gorilla Tag.

  • Six of the top ten grossing Meta Quest titles are free-to-play, including UG, Yeeps, Gorilla Tag, Animal Company, Roblox and VRChat.

  • No recipient studios, projects, application criteria or deadlines for the initiative have been disclosed.

ENVER and Trass Games have committed up to $2 million in joint investments to fund new VR games from emerging studios, the two companies announced on February 3. The initiative targets teams building social-first, original experiences on standalone headsets.

The partnership has a track record to build on. The two companies previously co-funded UG, the ContinuumXR-developed social title where players hatch and raise a dinosaur companion, and advised on its marketing. UG currently ranks as the number one grossing game on the entire Meta Quest platform, ahead of Beat Saber, Gorilla Tag, Animal Company and Blade & Sorcery: Nomad.

That result anchors the pitch for the new fund. ENVER, the company behind MotoX and Scary Baboon, and Trass Games, the studio behind best-seller Yeeps, are positioning themselves as operator-investors rather than passive backers: capital plus hands-on marketing guidance, derived from a title that reached the top of the charts.

"UG shows what's possible when strong developers are backed by partners who understand how VR games actually succeed today," said Kyle Joyce, ENVER CEO. "This collaboration with Trass Games is about building a repeatable model. We want to find the next studios with real potential and give them the resources and guidance to scale."

The commercial logic points squarely at free-to-play social games. Six of the top ten grossing titles on Meta Quest are free-to-play, with UG sitting alongside Yeeps, Gorilla Tag, Animal Company, Roblox and VRChat at the top of the charts. The paid titles in the top ten — Beat Saber, Blade & Sorcery: Nomad, Bonelab and Golf+ — are the minority. UploadVR reports that the free-to-play social segment has grown faster than any other VR genre, driven in particular by younger users.

For studios, the deal structure matters as much as the amount. What changes concretely is access to up to $2 million in capital from partners who have shipped two of the platform's top-grossing social titles, plus marketing support modeled on the UG campaign. The two companies have not disclosed whether the funding will be distributed as individual investments, a structured fund, or equity deals.

No recipient studios or projects have been named yet. The companies have also not specified application criteria, deadlines or how many titles they intend to back within the $2 million envelope.

UG is available on the Meta Horizon Store for Quest headsets.
