1312 Interactive has closed a $1 million seed round to expand publishing operations for what its founders frame as India's first dedicated PC and console game publishing house.

T-Accelerate Capital and ChimeraVC co-led the round, with participation from Ventana Ventures and three individual investors: Rahul Reddy G., Rohan Murukutla, and Dasari Srinivas. The company will deploy the capital across production, marketing, QA, localisation and distribution for developers on its roster, alongside a planned expansion into emerging markets outside the subcontinent.

What does the funding unlock for developers?

The company is simultaneously introducing 1312 Playground, a community-led programme that grants studios access to structured playtesting sessions, audience feedback collection and pre-launch insight work. For indie and mid-tier teams without dedicated QA staff, that layer potentially compresses release timelines and reduces friction ahead of platform certification.

Deepak Gurijala and Raviteja Mantena founded 1312 Interactive in 2024. The two publicly launched operations in February 2025 alongside the close of a pre-seed round. The new seed cheque effectively extends that earlier runway into a full publishing programme, rather than funding initial hiring or studio formation.

What's already on the catalogue?

The publisher's current 2025 pipeline includes:

  • Winds of Arcana: Ruination (Brewed Games) — published earlier this year
  • Palm Sugar: A Village Story (Mono Tusk Studios) — released last month
  • Souls of Bombarika (Street Lamp Games) — slated for October
  • We Are So Cooked (Dwarven Brothers) — slated for October
  • Spaceman Biff (Prescription Studios) — forthcoming

The publisher faces its first operational stress test in October when Souls of Bombarika and We Are So Cooked ship within weeks of each other — separate audiences, distinct genres, a tight turnaround for shared marketing and PR capacity.

Why does India matter for PC and console publishing?

India's PC and console installed base still trails its mobile-first ecosystem by an order of magnitude, but Steam usage on the subcontinent has climbed and storefront access via cloud-gaming services widened through 2024 and 2025. A local team routing Western publishing infrastructure — from localisation passes to platform certification — through Indian developers changes the per-project cost stack for South Asian studios that previously had to negotiate with publishers in the US, UK or Singapore.

The $1m figure is modest by Western standards; a single mid-tier marketing campaign typically exceeds that total. For the first dedicated Indian PC and console publishing operation, however, it sets a reference point for institutional appetite in a category that previously attracted mainly grants and angel cheques rather than structured venture capital.

What to watch next

October will deliver 1312's first read on whether console storefront algorithms, regional pricing tiers and post-launch support hold across a multi-title slate. Revenue performance of Palm Sugar in its first full quarter should establish the operating baseline for 2026 planning, assuming the company closes additional funding rounds or signs new publishing deals alongside its existing pipeline.
